MUNAY-KI INITIATION

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. What kind of changes can I expect to experience after receiving the Munay-Ki rites? In the short-term people report:  changes in sleep patterns, sleeping more deeply or increased wakefulness and energy, more vivid dreams, or remembering their dreams; heightened intuitive awareness, the ability to see energy; increased feelings of calm and peace, i.e. not getting upset or stressed about things that bothered them before; increased clarity about situations and people, i.e. difficult relationships become easier, new understandings arise, more easy to disconnect from other’s drama; increased optimism and hopefulness; increased self- confidence, able to make decisions and move more easily in the direction of their dreams; increased feelings of joy and happiness; increased ability to manifest desires, i.e. a new job or relationship, and to let go of unhealthy behaviors, situations and people; physical health issues improve or disappear altogether.  Initiates report many of these effects continuing in the long term; including feeling a sense of being more present in all aspects of their lives; increased optimism; feeling more on track and on purpose; a sense of empowerment and confidence and less of a tendency to project personal issues onto others.
  2. Will others notice anything different about me after I’ve been initiated with the Munay-Ki rites? They may; especially people who know you well, or even people who haven’t seen you in a while.  People may notice for example, that you seem more at ease, centered, grounded and have a new light in your eyes.  Or they may notice you’ve changed, but be unable to say what is different.  Depending on the extent of the change in your behavior, people who are invested in you staying the same may feel threatened with the changes and react by trying to get you to ‘change back’.  But of course, you always choose how you will walk in the world.  After receiving the initiations you more easily walk in beauty.
  3. I don’t meditate, and I’m not particularly psychic or sensitive to energy, will the Munay-Ki have any effect on me? The rites will affect you regardless of what or how you perceive the process or what experience you bring to it.  The changes are profound but occur at the energetic level and become evident in changes in your consciousness; manifesting in the quality of your thoughts, emotions and physical body.
  4. You promote mediation practice to help the activations, what if I don’t keep doing it after the class, will I ‘lose’ the benefits of the rites? There are lots of ways to support the health of your luminous energy body and support your spiritual growth.  Only you can decide what practices are best for you.  In the class I talk about spending time in nature, participating in fire ceremony and other types of meditations that feed your lightbody.  Even if you do not change anything you do afterwards, you will have received the enlightening effects of the initiation and the teachings; these effects will continue to unfold in your life.
  5. I have lots of issues going on right now, is this a good time to get the Munay-Ki initiation or is it best to wait until I feel better and my life is more settled? Receiving the Munay-ki rites is an act of self-care; taking time to tend to your own garden where your mind, body and spirit reside.  This may in itself refocus your attention in a positive way to your own well-being, and allow the external issues in your life to resolve themselves in their own time and way.  That being said, only you can decide when the timing is right.
  6. I don’t have any knowledge of energy medicine, what difference will my lack of experience make? The place you are starting doesn’t matter and cannot be compared with anyone else.  Everyone perceives the subtle realms of energy in their own way, and everyone brings their own understanding to it.  That is the beauty and perfection of your unique soul essence in action.  Some initiates with no previous experience or training had the most profound shifts in awareness occur during this process.  For example, I have a skeptical and analytical mind that affects how I perceive and experience energy.  Over time I have become more sensitive to subtle energies, but perhaps more important, I am able to trust the process because of the profound changes I’ve witnessed in my life and in the lives of others.
  7. I have been on the path of healing for a long time and had lots of different types of initiations and energy healing. How is this different? These initiations have aspects in common with all healing and spiritual traditions both from the East and West.  The Munay-Ki initiation represents a complete set of processes still used in the Andes to prepare those called to serve Pacha Mama (Mother Earth).  This process traditionally spanned many years of a person’s life. However, we live in accelerated times and the need for our full awakening now is greater than ever before in the Earth’s history.  Thus, the Ninth and last Rite was not available for human to human transmission until very recently.  The initiation process takes place step by step, with each rite building on the previous one.  The initiations activate your energetic body’s blueprint in specific ways; new luminous architecture is installed and codes of light are downloaded.  This gives your lightbody its instructions for evolution into a new species of human.
  8. I don’t have any desire to be a healer or work with others transmitting the rites as you describe.  This would be just for me.  Is it okay to be initiated if I don’t plan to do anything with it? The most important contribution any one can make to the healing of this planet is to attend to your own self.  As someone wise advised “to thy own self be true”.  If you feel drawn to this work for whatever reason, trust that this calling is true and good and related to your soul’s purpose for incarnating on Earth at this time.  Sometimes we cannot imagine what is the bigger plan and purpose for our lives.  The best we can do is go where we are led, where opportunity presents, and our hearts say ‘yes’.  Trust that there is no wrong decision, and no mistakes can be made.  Whatever path you choose, you end up exactly where you need to be.
